چکیده

Using the vapor phase adsorption method, we show that it is possible to intercalate lithium atoms into 0.4-nm diameter single-walled carbon nanotubes. The charge-transfer behavior is studied by resonant Raman spectra. With increasing doping concentration, the radial breathing mode of these tubes shifts to higher frequency by about 18 cm because the vibration perpendicular to the tube axis is depressed. The G band exhibits conventional softening and downshift behavior. By decomposing the G band by one Breit-WignerFano line shape and three Lorentzians, we found that the softening and downshift is due to the intensity competition between four components. The BWF component at 1558 cm couples with the electronic continuum and survives until the saturated doping stage.

Manifestation of Structure of Electron Bands in Double-Resonant Raman Spectra of Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes.

Micro-Raman spectra of single-walled carbon nanotubes in the range of two-phonon 2D bands are investigated in detail. The fine structure of two-phonon 2D bands in the low-temperature Raman spectra of the mixture and individual single-walled carbon nanotubes is considered as the reflection of structure of their π-electron zones. The dispersion behavior of 2D band fine structure components in the...

A PARAMETRIC STUDY ON THE GROWTH OF SINGLE-WALLED CARBON NANOTUBES OVER CO-MO/MGO NANOCATALYST IN A FLUIDIZED BED REACTOR BY CCVD METHOD

Single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs) with high yield and quality were synthesized using chemical vapor deposition (CVD) over Co-Mo/ MgO nanocatalyst in a fluidized bed reactor. Different parameters such as temperature, the ratio of hydrocarbon source to hydrogen, the flow rate of gas, growth time, the size of catalyst particles, heating rate, and the kind of hydrocarbon source were examined t...

Raman study of individually dispersed single-walled carbon nanotubes under pressure

We report the resonant Raman spectra of individualized =debundled single-walled carbon nanotubes SWNTs having diameters d 0.8–1.3 nm subject to compression up to 10.5 GPa. Both SWNTs in watersurfactant dispersions as well as SWNTs deposited onto glass microfibers and compressed with methanolethanol were studied. In the low pressure regime 1 GPa , linear and reversible up-shifts of the Raman ban...

A Theoretical Study of H2S and CO2 Interaction with the Single-Walled Nitrogen Doped Carbon Nanotubes

The physical adsorption of hydrogen sulfide and carbon dioxide gases on the zigzag (5,0) carbon nanotubes doped with nitrogen was investigated through the application of B3LYP/6-31G* at the level of theory on Gaussian 03 software. A variety of stable and high abundance structures of nitrogen doped carbon nanotubes were considered in order to study the interaction between the mentioned gases in ...

Raman modes of index-identified freestanding single-walled carbon nanotubes.

Using electron diffraction on freestanding single-walled carbon nanotubes, we have determined the structural indices (n,m) of tubes in the diameter range from 1.4 to 3 nm. On the same freestanding tubes, we have recorded Raman spectra of the tangential modes and the radial breathing mode. For the smaller diameters (1.4-1.7 nm), these measurements confirm previously established radial breathing ...
